What can AI never take over in blogging? Today in the field of business, everybody is wondering how AI is affecting them and will continue to affect them. It's interesting how whole business structures are being turned inside out. Everybody, from students to CEOs, follows developments in artificial intelligence closely, especially those related to their fields.

This is exactly why you may be wondering how it affects you as a blogger. The facts I'm about to share weren't obvious at the time this technology was introduced. It has taken some time for the dust to settle down, so to speak. I will show you how bloggers can thrive in the era of AI.

1. Personal experiences

You can summarize and gather general information quickly, but what about the experience you just had when you were writing your last blog post? It may seem obvious, but since AI has no bodies (yet), it can't share its experiences.

But it's not only an antagonism; human experiences have value. We evolved listening to stories around a campfire at the end of a hard hunting day. Most likely your audience wants to read what happened to you and how you reached your conclusions.

2. Human in the loop

This week I finished a data wrangling project for a customer. It was a 1.6 million line export that needed to be arranged to be exported for Excel use. AI was critical in every part of the process. But the different AI providers I used had different strengths and weaknesses for the job at hand.

So far, it couldn't have handled the operation end-to-end as it makes unspoken assumptions about the little details that make a successful output. I still needed to provide guidance, run code, and perform other tasks where the previous step's output is critical to design the next one.

3. Emotion

It may seem strange, but the quirk of the human species may be key not only for survival, but for business success. Data is amazing, but you'd need more, much more to lead a reader to buy your recommended products or services.

Emotion can sometimes show wisdom and may fall into the qualitative realm. Sentiment analysis, anyone?

Emotion may be key to persuading your audience, as data may back up an argument, but the argument is usually the result of feelings that are hard to analyze with bits.

Emotions often give way to opinion, as a healthy discussion on what's good and what's not keeps business strategies on a path to success. If you have an opinion, it is something related to you. Artificial intelligence can't back up a statement except for its training data and algorithm of origin.

4. First-party data

The Internet is a funny place. What you see- the search engines, the personal and business websites, the email services, and even the software you can use online is just a small portion of the web.

You can say this visible layer is just the tip of the iceberg. There are private layers of information that live hidden from the general public. Often, this information has great value to those who are already seeking it.

First-party data is information gathered by one person or organization through their website analytics, CRM, apps, accounting data, logs, etc. A few sources, such as Google, use the word 'customers,' but I think the concept applies to lots of information related to other entities.

Conclusion

What can AI never take over in blogging? As you can see, you can’t replicate the human experience on command. It takes a human being to share experiences and opinions. Emotions lead to paths hard to predict for an algorithm. Emotions are the cause of many critical aspects of blogging decisions. An intelligent system still can’t follow its gut.

Also, for certain tasks, it’s critical to have a human directing an artificial intelligence system. AI sometimes makes assumptions that won’t satisfy the quality requirements of deliverables and output. Access to privileged information adds immense value to content. It’s a human who must access these different silos and choose what to focus on.

As you can see, focusing on these aspects and letting an AI system be wonderful at what they do is key to succeeding now and in the future.
